Stay

This book I just started is called Stay by, Deb Caletti is about a girl named Clara. She is living with her funny, artistic writer of a dad. When she was very little, her mom died. This has always been a big part of Clara's life has always been missing. When she meets Christen at a basketball game, it maybe feels like that hole is being filled. From her last boyfriend who was very nasrasisitic. He lot her off to drop her at home 4 blocks away. He was abusive and not good person. Christen is like nothing she has ever met before. He's sweet, caring, organized and seems to love her as much as she loves him. So far Clara's dad has shown his dislike for him because he thinks that he will have a hard time letting Clara go, if they ever do break up.

I agree with Clara's dad. During the book Clara notices that he never throws out anyway. the author is also writing this book as it already happened, so the character can comment on the actions that are taking place. I think that this shows that he would have a hard time letting people go that he really become attached to. I think that Clara is in deep trouble because I think he is bad news. I think that he on the outside look so perfect and has an Australian accent and look so innocent because his mother abandoned  him at a young age. I think though secretly he's an abusive boyfriend that would potentially become a threat to Clara's safety and maybe even her life.

In a book I just recently finished called, "Swallowing Stones", Nick Andreas is the main character and he is an abusive boyfriend. It was interesting to see the point of view from the boy, because it gives you a different perspective on how he is feeling and why he does the things he does. You should check it out and see if you can connect this book with that.
